Art galleries
Join the stores and galleries that stay open late every third Thursday in downtown Nevada City.
Each October artists open their studios for two weekends. You can meet and explore a 30 mile radius with 100 artists participating.

The Nevada City Chamber of Commerce web site will keep you posted on current events. Music abounds in the area. See The Prospector in the Thursday Union Newspaper. Bars around town have live entertainment:

Nature
Nature abounds in this Sierra foothils area. The Yuba River is one of the most visited natural areas to visit and enjoy the water and sun. Many other spots offer river swimming, including Bridgeport where you can also enjoy a beautifull historic bridge.
Lakes such as Scotts Flat offer boat rentals. Rollins Lake a bit further away is another quiet destination to enjoy swimming and boating.
